Julia Sankar (b. 2003, Schenectady, New York) is an Antiguan-American contemporary artist based in Homestead, Florida. She will receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a Minor in Art History at the Ringling College of Art and Design in 2026. Her work ranges widely from commercial to fashion and documentary photography. She meticulously curates in the studio for product, editorial, or commercial applications; however, she enjoys a fine art approach to storytelling and embraces conceptual thinking. Julia’s self-portrait series, Connections, explores concepts of growth and remembrance and juxtaposes her childhood photos with recent images of herself in young adulthood, allowing her to reconnect with distant memories and forgotten events.
Looking ahead, Julia aims to expand her artistic practice by delving deeper into the intersection of photography and mixed media, exploring ways to blend traditional and digital techniques. Through future exhibitions and collaborations, she hopes to create work that resonates with audiences and sparks meaningful conversations.
